ASHLAND — Many braved rainy and somewhat chilly weather to experience what the 20th annual Ashland Train Day had to offer.
Kicking off at 10 AM, dozens of vendors opened up shop in downtown Ashland and many gathered around the railroad tracks to see what was running on the CSX mainline.
Railfans were spotted trackside as early as 6:30 AM this morning.
And even into this evening, dozens still remained trackside waiting on Amtrak trains and a special M422 with an ex-Citi Rail leading the freight.
Virtual Railfan held a dinner in Ashland at 6 PM for those who purchased tickets ahead of time.
It’s safe to say that this year’s Ashland Train Day was another success for this Virginia community.
Until next year, we’ll see you on the rails!
