If you’re a railfan in the Southern California area, Los Angeles Union Station is the place to be this weekend (September 9-10, 2023) as the station will play host to Train Festival 2023.
Billed as a celebration of the past, present, and future, several displays will be on hand to showcase the region’s rail history. Included among the displays will be Santa Fe 2-10-4 #3751, Amtrak 203 (Operation Lifesaver livery) as well as other passenger equipment from the national railroad, MetroLink equipment including an F125 locomotive and several passenger cars.
Freight rail is represented as well with a BNSF locomotive slated to be on display along with Santa Fe 5704, which wears a bicentennial paint scheme. Numerous model railroad displays will be available for the public to view. Live music will also be provided for entertainment.
This event is free and open to the public from 10am to 6pm Pacific Time on Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th, 2023.
